Eric the Red, the Fearless

In 960, due to his fathers misconduct, the young Eric fled his beloved Norway with his family. Eric and a few of his possessions were hastily thrown into their longboat, and his father and his followers set their sails for Iceland. Eric grew into a young adventuresome man, who, like most Vikings, was born with an incurable case of wanderlust. Eric was a daring and skillful seaman who journeyed far from home.
